4-Star S Tamarion McDonald Commits to Tennessee

by | Oct 22, 2019

Tennessee is on a hot streak on the recruiting trail right now. The Vols are carrying a blistering amount of momentum out of Memphis right now. Tennessee just landed it’s second commitment from Whitehaven in four-star athlete Tamarion McDonald.

McDonald is a do-it-all defender who had been committed to Mississipi State. He backed off the pledge on Tuesday night, then shortly after informed Vol Recruiting Reports that he was committed to Tennessee.

At the time, McDonald said, “GBO. I am so happy to be a Vol.” McDonald quickly started showing the Vols attention as soon as Jeremy Pruitt extended the offer. That came full circle tonight when he elected to stay home and play for Tennessee.

McDonald told VR2’s Brandon Martin shortly after his October 5th official visit, “everything was good. It was great. Everything was real smooth. I had a lot of fun.”

McDonald made the trip to Arkansas with his friends over the weekend to see the Razorbacks and make sure that he saw all that he needed to before he decided to make his commitment to Tennessee today.

McDonald plays a variety of roles at Whitehaven which will make him unique to this class. He can play as a defensive back, star in particular, and move into a linebacker spot when called upon.

McDonald is a four-star on Rivals, and he is rated as the 15th best player in the state of Tennessee for 2020. McDonald marks the 17th commitment in this class and 7th prospect from the state of Tennessee.
