Peach State defender, Lewis, set for return trip to Tennessee

by | Oct 23, 2019

Tennessee will play host to several top targets over the weekend. One name that will add to the list is three-star, Peach State defender, Damarjhe Lewis.

Lewis informed VR2’s Matt Ray on Wednesday morning that he would make the trip to Knoxville for the South Carolina game.

Lewis, a one time Auburn commit, has been a prospect on multiple teams radars for quite some time. He has offers from across the country, but one thing unique about Tennessee is his long-standing relationship with Tracy Rocker.

Lewis recently told VR2, “I feel that Coach Rocker is going to push me and make sure I do everything right. He has been recruiting me since my 9th-grade year when he was at Georgia. I feel very close with him. I would feel comfortable with him and committing to Tennessee.”

Right now, the schools contacting him the most are West Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana, and Oklahoma. Lewis did add that West Virginia is the school recruiting him the hardest.

This weekend’s visit will be an unofficial visit for Lewis, but he is working setup an official visit leading up to making his decision.

Lewis is rated as the No. 672 overall prospect nationally, the No. 57 DT, and No. 58 prospect from the state of Georgia for 2020, according to the 247 Sports Rankings. However, Lewis could likely end up playing as a strong-side defensive end, which would certainly vary that ranking.
