Tennessee is one of the top schools in the running for 3-Star wide receiver Malachi Bennett of Fairfield, Alabama—according to a tweet that Bennett posted on Sunday Night.

Standing at 6’2’’ and weighing in at 180 pounds, Bennett is rated as the 71st best wide receiver in the nation, and the 15th best player in the State of Alabama according to 247 Sports, while Rivals rates the member of the class of 2021 as the 37th best at his position and the 16th best in his state.

Tennessee was the first SEC Program to offer Bennett back in October, but he received an offer from Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M in late January. Georgia Tech, Louisville, and Illinois have also offered the junior, while he holds several additional non-power-five offers from Southern Mississippi, UAB, Troy, Tulane, and Toledo.

Bennett was teammates with Reginald Perry—a 3-Star offensive-lineman who signed with Tennessee as part of the 2020 class—and is currently being recruited by the Volunteers’ wide-receiver coach, Tee Martin, who won the 247Sports National Recruiter of the Year award in 2016.

Malachi is the nephew of Earl Bennett, who played for Vanderbilt University and is currently the SEC’s all-time leader in receptions. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 3rd Round of the 2008 NFL Draft.
