Vols land ‘natural born winner and scorer’ in five-star Jaden Springer
The 6’5, 195lbs shooting guard is rated as the nation’s number 16 overall prospect, number 4 shooting guard, and number four prospect from the state of Florida in the 2020 class, according to 247 Sports.
Tennessee beat out North Carolina down the stretch to grab Springer’s commitment.
Springer’s coach, Trey Draper, told VR2’s Garren Covington, “Jaden is fearless. He is one of the most competitive players I have ever been around.”
Springer said of his game, “Jaden is a natural-born winner and scorer. He’s a tenacious defender who hounds the ball, but he does not get enough credit for his weakside help defense.”
Tennessee will look to add more one piece to this class more than likely with the addition of a big man. Springer’s commitment bumps the Vols up to fourth in the nation and gives them a class average of 0.9910. This is a drastic change from last season when the Vols finished 31st with a class average of 0.9219.
